I will support legislation that strengthens oversight and requires data centers to pay for the water and electricity they use. I also support a moratorium on new data centers in South Dakota to give local communities time to assess environmental impacts and protect South Dakota families from rising utility costs and water usage concerns. I have a proven track record of opposing tax breaks for data centers, and I have consistently prioritized public concerns.
